Nashville Tree Foundation Urban Canopy Planting

Nashville is rapidly losing its urban tree canopy to development, and the Nashville Tree Foundation is fighting back. Weekend volunteer tree-planting events place native trees in neighborhoods that need shade and stormwater absorption most. Volunteers dig holes, plant, water, and stake trees across morning sessions — good physical work that directly reduces the urban heat island effect.
